MOMENTAL

Synopsis

Momental tours time, living, and expression through scientific observation and Zen sensibility. Some moments are brief instances, while others extend indefinitely. Some we see coming, others we initiate, and still others occur by chance. What do we make of them? While momentalism takes lessons from ancient philosophies like Stoicism and Taoism, this isn’t a religious work.

IN AUDIO BOOKS I + II

BOOK I invites listeners to a small but vibrant corner of our universe. The scale is reduced to mere moments — but with all that’s possible from them. Explore purpose, pivoting, balance, acceptance, unburdening, and a host of other momentalist themes. Orientation begins with an invite from the author. Continue with a manifesto, meditations, letters, poetry, and more. It’s a heartfelt audio journey, inspired by the passing of a mentor. BOOK II revisits the author’s formative moments and influencers. It’s important to recall and own our past if we’re to build our best future. It begins with a dozen guidelines for writing a memoir. It traces family stories, teachers who shaped him, his role model Prince, and an artistic lineage with legends Marcel Duchamp and John Cage.

THE VOLUMES AHEAD

How does time operate on your watch? Some are nostalgic. Others peer forward. BOOK III offers 11 theories — from Relativity to Presentism to Eternalism and more. Sharpen the lens from macro (time) to micro (instances). BOOK IV digs deeper into momentalism —beginning with our first and last moments. We then consider the myriad mindful ways we capitalize in the times between. As our stardust is heated and compressed into energy and notions, BOOK V hones expression. Our options here are infinite, as all living organisms are constructed of the same elements, grown under the same sun. It’s how we prep and step to opportunity, and how well we excite matter that matters. BOOK VI is a bonus manual, with simple tips and practices for momental living.

From the Author

“It’s important to remain patient. I know that’s going against the grain in this moment. But my mindset was (and still is) that we can’t truly appreciate the detail and stay in the moments if we allow our energy to rush forward or our command to unravel. Don’t spread life thin. Don’t merely react. Don’t underestimate the the power in allowing this audio series to unfold — to go from the mesmerizingly epic to the everyday moments directly in front of us. It’s awareness of the big pictures that trains us to paint small canvases. It’s ongoing practice.”
